INSPIRATION STORY

It is a story of the infamous ‘2020 Lockdown’. The year that took a lot from us and gave us a lot to reflect upon. I was confined to my house, like everybody else. I had no work, no deadlines which gave me enough time to focus on other things in life. One of which was Hair Care. I have naturally curly hair and I was looking for ways to take good care of them. That’s when I started doing my research on it and came across these many Hair Care Accessories that are meant to be used for Curly Hair specifically. But as I tried getting my hands on them, I realised that they were way out of budget. I was determined to do something about it. And so I was inspired to make my own Satin Hair Bonnet from scratch. I bought all the material I needed and with the help of a tailor, I sewed my first ever bonnet. It wasn’t the most perfect looking one, but it was functional. So I shared this story on my social media and within a few hours of that, everybody started talking about it. And a lot of them even suggested that I should turn this one-time thing into a business. Inspired by their support and my love for Curl Care Accessories, I tried perfecting my Satin Hair Bonnet and within a few months, we were open for business. It wouldn’t have been possible without the tremendous support I received from the beautiful Curly Hair Community for which I will always be grateful. A dream of making my own hair care journey affordable and accessible, turned into my very own business. And with this I was not only able to stand on my own feet, I could also provide an additional source of income for the tailor who helped me make all my products. I wanted to provide people with affordable yet comfortable accessories which is why we ditched the elastics in our Satin Bonnets and sewed in Velvet seams with ties inside. Soon we were able to introduce a whole range of Satin Hair Care Accessories, carving each step as we moved ahead.
